Glucose Transport Receptors & Insulin

  1. Glucose Transport Receptors: GLUT 1, GLUT 2, GLUT 4, GLUT 5
  2. Insulin responsive:GLUT 4
    • "you have in the limbs muscle and fat"
  3. Cells don't need insulin: "BRICKL" (Brain, RBC's, Intestine, Cornea, Kidney, Liver)
  4. Pancreatic B-cell GLUT receptor is open in both directions: 2
  5. GLUT 5: responsible of fructose absorption on the gut
